The Pirates today signed left-handed pitcher Wilfredo Ledezma as a minor league free agent. He will receive an invitation to spring training.

Ledezma, 28, made five relief appearances last season for the Washington Nationals. After being sent down to Triple-A Syracuse, Ledezma worked in 18 games before being released. He signed with Toronto, and appeared in 11 games out of the bullpen for Class A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire.

Ledezma has a career record of 15-22 with a 5.17 ERA in 160 major league games. Hes also played for Detroit, Atlanta, San Diego and Arizona.

The Pirates also signed eight non-drafted free agents: shortstops Maximo Rivera and Ramses Pena; outfielder Luis Urena; righties Arquimedes Lorenzo, Cristopher DeLeon, Darlin Aneudy and Luis Alfonzo Valdez; and lefty Darlin Alduey. All were assigned to the Dominican Summer League.
