GLENDALE, ARIZONA Russell Martin doubled and drove in a run and Andre Ethier had two hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Colorado Rockies, 3-2.

Clayton Kershaw started for the Dodgers and allowed one hit while striking out three and walking one in five scoreless frames. He also added a solo homer.

Carlos Gonzalez doubled for the Rockies.

At Scottsdale, Arizona – The San Francisco Giants reached Chicago White Sox top prospect Aaron Poreda for five runs in 1 1/3 innings en route to a 6-4 victory.

At Peoria, Arizona – Micah Hoffpauir and Nate Spears drove in three runs apiece as the Chicago Cubs crushed a split squad of Seattle Mariners, 9-2.

At Phoenix – J.J. Hardy went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI and Corey Hart homered to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-5 win over the Cleveland Indians.

At Surprise, Arizona – Omar Vizquel had three hits and scored a run and Marlon Byrd hit a two-run homer to lead the Texas Rangers to an 8-5 win over the Oakland Athletics.

At Peoria, Arizona – Ken Griffey Jr. made his debut in left field and went 0-for-3 at the plate, but Russell Branyan had three hits and Mike Wilson homered to lead a split squad of Seattle Mariners to a 10-8 win over the San Diego Padres.
