JUPITER, FLORIDA Joe Blanton tossed six scoreless innings as the reigning World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Florida Marlins, 5-1.
Blanton surrendered just one hit and did not walk a batter while striking out three.
Marlins starter Chris Volstad also was impressive, pitching four scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit and struck out three.

At Port St. Lucie, Florida – Jose Reyes doubled twice and drove in four runs as the New York Mets rolled over the Houston Astros, 12-1.
At Sarasota, Florida – Jed Lowrie homered among three hits and Jon Lester struck out six in 4 1/3 innings as the Boston Red Sox crushed the Cincinnati Reds, 9-1.
At Lake Buena Vista, Florida – Matt Diaz had two hits and three RBI and Greg Norton scored a pair of runs to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 5-2 win over the Detroit Tigers.
At Tampa, Florida – Casey Janssen was forced out after one-third of an inning with shoulder soreness and the New York Yankees reached his replacement, Brian Burres, for four runs en route to a 7-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
