JUPITER, FLORIDA Jordan Zimmerman continued his outstanding spring with four scoreless innings as the Washington Nationals defeated the Florida Marlins, 3-1, in Grapefruit League action Monday.

Zimmerman, who has not allowed a run in 12 1/3 innings this spring, yielded two hits and did not walk a batter in this contest, recording six strikeouts.

At Lakeland, Florida – Timo Perez went 4-for-5 with a homer and a triple as the Detroit Tigers rallied for a 7-6 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

At Tampa, Florida – Joba Chamberlain struck out three over three innings and Nick Swisher had three hits and three RBI, leading the New York Yankees to a 12-0 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies.

At Dunedin, Florida – Jed Lowrie had three hits, including a homer off Roy Halladay, as the Boston Red Sox posted a 6-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

At Lee County, Florida – Joe Crede went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 5-3 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles.

At Bradenton, Florida – Paul Maholm pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings for the Pittsburgh Pirates but the Tampa Bay Rays rallied for four runs in the sixth inning and Jon Weber added a two-run homer in the eighth en route to a 6-4 victory.
