Monday night is the last chance to see the Pirates in basketball for 2008 before they take to the road for a couple of games when ECU takes on 10th ranked Wake Forest in Williams Arena.
The Pirates return home after a tough outing
in Raleigh last week against N.C. State, losing 87-76 in the RBC Center.
ECU is averaging 81 points per game so far this season under second year head coach Mack McCarthy who is creeping up on .500 with 19-21 record.
McCarthy is 0-1 lifetime against the Deacons. His Chattanooga team lost to the Deacons in the first round of the 1993 NCAA Tournament.
Wake head coach Dino Gaudio is 27-13 in his second season as the head coach in Winston-Salem. Wake averages 83 point per game with an average rebounding average of 11 boards.
Sam Hinnant and James Legan are the two leading scorers for the Pirates at 17.5(8th in C-USA) and 14.5 respectively.
ECU point man Brock Young, whose uncle, Danny Young, was a guard at Wake Forest from 1981-84, leads the charge with a nations leading 8.3 assists a game.
Youngs 83 overall assists is more than his 81 total for last season through thirty ballgames. Young tossed in 25 point in his last outing with 7 rebounds and spit out a couple of teeth courtesy of an N.C. State elbow.
6-8 freshman post man Darrius Morrow brings 10.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds into the contest while starter Chad Wynn is averaging 8.8 points a game with nearly 5 rebounds a game in his own right.
(10)Wake Forest is led by sophomores James Johnson and Jeff Teague. Teague leads the Deacons in scoring at 19.4 points per game, while Johnson checks in at 14.1 per game.
Freshman Al-Farouq Aminu leads the Deacons in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per contest.
Mondays game will mark the third meeting between the two teams in the past four seasons Wake Forest has won all five games in a series that began in 1969.
