Ducks like chances of ending futility on the road.
Anaheim (10-8-2) at St. Louis (6-8-2) 8:30 p.m. EST
ST. LOUIS The Anaheim Ducks may actually be happy that theyre hitting the road.
After a dismal set of games at home, the Ducks open a two-game road trip when they visit the St. Louis Blues on Friday.
Anaheim suffered a 6-4 loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday, concluding its six-game homestand with a 2-3-1 record.
Bobby Ryan notched two goals and an assist, Ryan Getzlaf netted a tally and set up another and Corey Perry recorded three assists for the Ducks, who fell to 5-6-2 at Honda Center.
Anaheim has had no trouble finding victories on the road. The Ducks have won each of their last five games away from home since losing their first two road contests.
Anaheim has a good shot at continuing its road success against the Blues, who have one win in November.
St. Louis fell to 1-4-2 this month after dropping a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, but lost more than the game during the contest.
Andy McDonald, the teams leader with 18 points, left in the first period with a fractured left leg. The 31-year-old center is expected to miss eight weeks after an MRI performed by team doctors in St. Louis determined that surgery will not be required.

Tocchet still searching for first win with Lightning.
Nashville (9-8-1) at Tampa Bay (5-7-6) 7:30 p.m. EST
TAMPA, Florida A new coach has not brought new results to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Interim coach Rich Tocchet tries to earn his first win with the Lightning when they host the Nashville Predators on Friday.
Tocchet took over for Barry Melrose, who was dismissed last Friday after Tampa Bay struggled to a 5-7-4 record in 16 games.
The Lightning hoped Tocchet could fix one of the leagues floundering squads, but Tampa Bay has struggled to a pair of shootout losses in two games under his leadership.
The Lightning jumped to a 2-0 lead against Carolina on Sunday but allowed the Hurricanes to score twice in the second period en route to a 3-2 shootout loss.
It was the complete opposite on Tuesday as Tampa Bay fired a franchise-record 52 shots and rallied from a three-goal deficit, but it wasnt enough as it suffered a 4-3 setback to the Florida Panthers, falling to 0-3-2 during its last five games.
Tocchet hopes the Lightning can snap their slide against the Predators, who had their three-game win streak snipped with a 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Monday.
Dan Ellis made 28 saves and David Legwand scored a shorthanded goal for Nashville in the loss.
