If Florida Atlantic its long-planned new beach ball stadium in 2010, Howard Schnellenberger will be on the sideline.

The 74-year-old coach had his contract extended Wednesday through the 2010 season, a reward from the Boca Raton, Fla., group’s rations of trustees after chief the Owls to first Sun Belt Conference contest last year. There is a provision in the deal that allow it to be extended through 2011 if the flair is not completed until then.

“Howard has built the rugby ball game show into a bowl champion in background time,” FAU strong director Craig Angelos said in a statement. “FAU wants him to minister at the team’s helm through its next remarkable phase, the production of our on-property stadium.”
